Polymer Sand Technology Process

Polymer sand technology is a fully waste-to-resource process, utilizing discarded plastics and non-recyclable materials to create durable products without depleting natural resources. It operates on a closed-loop system, ensuring zero waste generation throughout production.

Process

1. Plastic Waste Collection

  • Description: Gather discarded plastic materials such as LDPE, HDPE, PP, or mixed plastics.

2. Shredding and Size Reduction

  • Description: The collected plastic is shredded into small flakes or granules to make it easier to melt.

  • Goal: Achieve uniform size for efficient melting and mixing.

3. Sand Preparation

  • Description: Clean and dry sand (silica or other types) is prepared for mixing.

  • Goal: Remove moisture and ensure the sand particles are uniform in size for optimal mixing.

4. Mixing Plastic and Sand

  • Description: The molten plastic is mixed with sand in a high-torque mixer to form a homogeneous composite.

  • Goal: Achieve a uniform, well-blended mixture of plastic and sand.

5. Melting Mix Material through Extruders

6. Molding the Composite

  • Description: The polymer-sand mixture is poured into molds  to shape the final product (tiles, pavers, etc.).

  • Goal: Create the desired shape and size of the end product.

8. Cooling and Solidifying

  • Description: The molded products are cooled, either through air cooling or in a water bath, to solidify the composite.

  • Goal: Set the final shape and enhance the strength of the product.

9. Demolding and Finishing

  • Description: Once the products are cooled, they are removed from the molds.

  • Goal: Ensure the products are smooth, ready for any additional processing (like surface finishing or coloring).

10. Quality Control

  • Description: The finished products undergo testing for durability, strength, and quality.

  • Goal: Ensure the products meet the required standards before being released to the market.

11. Packaging and Distribution

  • Description: The final products are packed and prepared for shipment.

  • Goal: Deliver durable, eco-friendly products to customers, contributing to a cleaner environment.

This process ensures minimal waste, utilizing primarily recycled materials while producing durable, sustainable products.
